SPOTLIGHT : Immortalising Raves … Ben Price (Photographer)

We’re inundated with keen bean students who wanna make it as a photographer.  The majority have been given an SLR for Christmas and haven’t a clue how to operate it, others genuinely want to capture their nights out but lose themselves in drugs and alcohol before they’ve taken any decent shots and the night is over.

Once in a while, someone like our friend Ben Price, makes themselves known to us who demonstrated from the start his equal passion for photography and music.  During the first few parties he had to learn the hard way with some of the occupational hazards; from dealing with egotistical self-centered DJ’s who don’t want you closer than 10 feet from the decks to drunk fist pumping ravers who accidentally snap off your flash gun.  The important thing was with every party the photos got better and Ben, being his harshest critic, keeps striving to make sure he’s able to immortalise every event capturing the vibe that everyone felt on the night.

Needless to say while shooting for us, his portfolio’s growing along with his reputation as one of the best event photographers in the country right now not just for local venues and promoters but international brands, namely Red Bull’s Music Academy responsible for some of the best parties in the world right now.
